About WZBT 91.1 FM

WZBT-FM is a non-commercial educational radio station owned and operated by Gettysburg College for all members of the college and the surrounding community. Its purposes are to offer an effective means of responsible communication for students, faculty, administrators, and community members; to be a source of information within and beyond the confines of the college; and to provide information, entertainment, and recreation for its listeners.

WZBT’s 500-Watt (350 ERP) signal reaches the college community, Gettysburg, much of Hanover and Littlestown, and, when the signal is strong, the outskirts of Chambersburg, York, Dillsburg, as well as Westminster and Emmitsburg, Maryland. The student-run, faculty- and staff-advised station offers diverse programming . Musically, WZBT is an alternative rock radio station, though it prides itself on the eclecticism of its musical programming, featuring shows devoted to Jazz, Blues, Americana, and more. We pride ourselves on our original programming, new music focus and dedicated listenership, and strive to be the go-to destination on your radio dial or streaming app.

WZBT is licensed by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) as a “Full Service” FM Station. The current license expires August 1, 2022. More information may be found by querying the FCC database at https://www.fcc.gov/media/radio/fm-query. Type “WZBT” at the Call Sign prompt.

As part of the FCC license, WZBT files biennial ownership reports, participates in the Emergency Alert System (EAS), and maintains a public file available during normal business hours at the station, which is located in the basement of Plank Gym on the Gettysburg College Campus.
To further insure that WZBT remains FCC compliant, the station participates in the triennial inspection program provided by the Pennsylvania Association of Broadcasters (http://www.pab.org/). Our next inspection will take place in 2018.

WZBT maintains its music broadcast and webcast licenses through yearly fees paid to the American Society for Composers, Authors, and Publishers (ASCAP), Broadcast Music, Inc. (BMI), the Society of European Stage Authors and Composers (SESAC), and Sound Exchange.
